Thaw - New Single from Bicentennial Drug Lord

BDL has a new single out, just in time for Spring! You can check it out here:

The song has been garnering some fab reviews, including this one from Essentially Pop:

The late March release of ‘Thaw’ wasn’t a co-incidence; led by acoustic guitar, it’s a celebration of the changing seasons, and the coming of spring, with its promise of new life and hope.

On the surface, ‘Thaw’ is a love song – a plea to a lover not to leave, and instead stay and take in the warm days that are soon upon us. But take a deeper dive, and you understand why Bicentennial Drug Lord describe it as a “prayer for spring to come”. An homage to their hometown as much as anything else, BDL draw from their surroundings in the lyrics, with references to the weather conditions – the month of clouds, and the Coldstream washing away thoughts – as well as the local environs, such as Lake Michigan, on whose shores Milwaukee sits, referencing the cracking of the ice, as the thaw approaches.

‘Thaw’ was recorded at Drop Of Sun Studios, in Asheville, North Carolina, under the care of Alex Farrar, best known for his work with MJ Lenderman, Wednesday, and Merce Lemon.
