Justin Tracy

British Folk Singer Justin Tracy’s new record Five Fathoms, is an introspective journey inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Employing folklore & ancient symbolism, Tracy weaves a tale & sonic tapestry reminiscent of legendary folk luminaries like Nick Drake & John Martyn & Bert Jansch. Steeped in tradition & craft, Tracy navigates the murky waters of family & fatherhood, life & death on the way to self discovery.

Although it may seem Tracy has materialized out of thin air, he has spent his life honing  his skill & sound. First in & around London as a working musician then as a record producer in NYC. Still in search of a vibe, Tracy traveled to India & Bangladesh to record with classical musicians (Nilesh Jadhav; Gandhar Deshpande) for his first two releases: the sublime Bangla Motor & the psychedelic & joyous Mumbai Night. In theses records you hear the cultivation of Tracy’s unique, intricate guitar work & his delicate vocal style.
